Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, where she made her stage debut in an
adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows". Through her
teens, she was in a variety of other shows until she decided to make acting her
profession. According to the official version of the story, she presented a
PowerPoint slide show that was supported by the Madonna's Hollywood and was
dubbed "Project Hollywood" in an attempt to convince her parents and
allow her to quit school and move to Los Angeles. After the pitch was accepted,
she and her mother moved to LA. She continued her education at home while
auditioning. She got her TV breakthrough when she won the part of Laurie
Partridge in the VH1 show, a reality and talent show In Search of the Partridge
Family (2004) that led to a number of smaller TV roles over the following
years. After a string of successful performances, she was able to portray the
character of Jules in Superbad (2007). Her success was as Olive in Easy A
(2010) followed by several more roles. The school she attended was Xavier
College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona. While she is a redhead, the hair color
that is natural to her is blonde. Judd Apatow suggested that she change her
hair color in order to match Superbad (2007). She was so in love with it, she
chose to keep the color. When she was 15, she persuaded her parents to let her
to go to Hollywood through an PowerPoint presentation that was appropriately
titled Project Hollywood. At the age of 11 she began her acting career in the
Valley Youth Theatre, Phoenix, AZ. There, she was a part of 16 stage
productions as well as in the comedy improv troupe. Caylee Cowan was also an
