Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on
26th August 2002) is known as Lil Tecca, is an American musician and rapper.
The release of "Ransom," his 2019 single, has helped him become a
mainstream star. This single was part of his debut mixtape "We Love You Tecca"
(2019) which peaked at the top spot on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also
contained the singles "Love Me", "Did It Again" and
"Did It Again". The debut album of his studio, Virgo World (2020),
debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot 100's
top-charting tracks "Dolly" and "When You Down". The second
mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August 2021. It included the songs
"Repeat It", "Lot of Me" as well as others. Tyler-Justin
Anthony sharpe was the son of Jamaican immigrants. He was born on August 26,
2002 in Queens, New York City. Sharpe was raised in Springfield Gardens a
neighborhood of Queens however, he later moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island.
Sharpe has always dreamed of being able to join the NBA as a youngster however,
at the age of 12, Sharpe decided to pursue his profession in music. Sharpe
completed his studies at Lawrence High School. Tecca, nine years old at the
time, was rapping along with his friends with his Xbox to record. Tecca and his
friends would often make diss tracks about each other. One of the tracks was
uploaded to SoundCloud in the past, but it was removed. The singer initially
didn't intend to pursue a musical career however, he had a dream of becoming an
NBA star. However, during middle school, his interest in basketball faded and
started to take music more seriously. The first single he released,
"Tectri", which gained some popularity in the early 2017 was made
with Lil Gummybear and released in collaboration. Lil Gummybear. The artist
also released "Callin" in the same year, which was one of his first
tracks. The following year the career of Tecca began to flourish by releasing
his smash single "Ransom", which was originally uploaded on Cole
Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May 22, 2019. The song reached
number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track has received more than 990
million Spotify plays and over 300,000,000 YouTube views.
